Waving Hello Card

Hello. Today I am sharing a scene card using old and new stamp sets from Lawn Fawn.

I used the stamp sets Mermaid For You and Smooth Sailing.

I took a piece of Neenah classic crest 80 lb cardstock and stared by blending Distress Oxide inks to create a sunset background . I masked off half the card panel with purple tape and a small semi circle to represent the sun. I used Mustard Seed, Carved Pumpkin, Picked Raspberry Dusty Concord, Chipped Sapphire and Salty Ocean. Starting with the yellow and working up, I used Picket Fence Studio blending brushes and added lines of colour, building up the layers for each colour until I was happy with the blend. I then removed the semi circle mask and went over it with the yellow lightly to blend out the white colour of the card.

Next I worked on the sea. I did exactly the same as I did for the sky just switching up the colours of ink to Mustard Seed, Salty Ocean, Blueprint Sketch and Tumbled glass. I made sure not to go too heavy on the yellow and light blue as they do create green when the mix but this was ok for how I wanted my scene to look.

Once the inking was complete I used my favourite Gansai Tambi white gold watercolor and flicked it from a paint brush over the blue area of the sky and the sea.

I decided to add a distant mountain so cut a mask to the shape I wanted and added Ground Espresso ink.

I took a piece of Neenah 80lb solar white card and stamped out my images in Memento Tuxedo black ink, masking the lighthouse and stamping the rock overlapping and masking the bear and bunny, stamping the boat on top. I coloured the images with my Copic markers and fussy cut them out. I then went around the edges with a black marker.

I used a tape runner to adhere the images to the card and stamped the waves, birds and sentiment in the black ink.

To complete the card I added a gold gem to the lighthouse and attached the panel to a card base.

Thanks for dropping by. Take care for now.

Relaxing Holiday Beach Card.

Hello. Today I am sharing a card made using one of the stamp sets from the new Lawn Fawn release. The set is called On The Beach.

I started with the background. I cut a rough mask from a piece of purple tape to be the shape of a horizen line. I then used Distress Oxide inks in Antique linen for the sand and Peacock Feathers for the sea. I used a Picket Fence blending brush and added the ink making sure to blend lighter in each colour towards where they meet but not letting the colours touch. This leaves the illusion of white sea foam. There is a video tutorial showing how I created the beach background over on my YouTube channel.

I then took some gold watercolour from Gansai Tambi and flicked it from the edge of a paint brush to add some texture to the sand area. I lightly blended some Oxide in salty ocean over the sky area in random areas to keep some areas of white.

Next I worked on the images. I stamped them on to Neenah solar white 80lb cardstock with Memento Tuxedo black ink and coloured them with my Copic markers. I then cut them out with my Scan N Cut machine. arranged them roughly where I wanted them on my scene and cut away the white border with a small pair of scissors where I wanted the images to overlap (the suncream with the shell and bear with the ball.)

I stamped the sentiment using my Misti and the Memento black ink. Then adhered the images using a tape runner.

To complete the card I added some Spectrum Noir clear sparkle pen to add sparkle to the umbrella.

I hope you like the card. Take care for now.

Simple Hello Card

Hello.

Today I am sharing a quick and easy hello card. I used one of the stamps from the Bee Happy stamp set from Time For Tea Designs.

I used honey pot stamp and coloured each pot in rainbow order with my Copic markers. I then used the coordinating die to cut the pots out.

I took a white card base and a piece of patterned paper and cut a piece that was about one third of the height of the card and adhered it to the card base with a tape runner. This paper is from the Lawn Fawn ‘let’s polka in the meadow’ collection.

I then placed the honey pots above the paper and adhered them with the tape runner. I stamped the hello sentiment in Memento Tuxedo black ink to complete the card.

You could use this design with any stamps and patterned paper for quick and easy cards. Give it a try.

Bee Happy Card

Hello. Today I am sharing a card for Time For Tea Designs using supplies from the new release. You can get the bee Bee Happy stamp set from the Time For Tea Designs Shop and use discount code T4TKATRINA10 to get 10% off your entire purchase.

I started the card by blending the background panel. I used Neenah 80lb cardstock. Using Distress Oxide inks in carved pumpkin and mustard seed. I lightly blended a little of the lighter ink on the panel so it wasn’t white then took the Time For Tea Designs ‘Bee Hive’ stencil and laid it over the top and blended the ink keeping the centre yellow (mustard seed) and blending out to the darker shade (carved pumpkin.)

Next I stamped and coloured the bee from the ‘Bee Happy’ stamp set using my Copic markers and die cut it with the coordinating die.

I cut the panel down so it was slightly smaller than my card base to leave a thin border. Then adhered the panel to the base with a tape runner.

I stamped and heat embossed the bee happy sentiment on to black card with Wow white embossing powder and cut it down to a thin strip.

I attached the bee to the centre of the card using an action wobbler and added the sentiment strip underneath with a tape runner. I added some sequins with liquid glue to complete the card.

Have a great week ahead

Miss You Card

Hello.

Today I am sharing a card made as part of the Altenew Seasonal Scene Building class from Altenew Academy.

This class was all about building scene cards which I do often, but this class got me to think differently. So I decided to create a simple scene card without the addition of my usual colouring.

I started the card by blending a bright background using Distress Oxide inks in Salty Ocean, Broken China and Mowed Lawn. I flicked a little water over, soaked up the excess and set aside to dry.

Next I took a leaf stamp from the ‘Floral Shadow’ Altenew stamp set. I placed it in my Misti stamping platform and stamped it into the top corner using Memento Tuxedo black ink. I stamped it twice to make sure the image was nice and dark. I then stamped the bird and bench from the ‘Garden Grow’ stamp set from Altenew below the leaves. I added the miss you sentiment from the floral shadow set.

To complete the card I trimmed down the edges of the card panel slightly smaller than my card base and adhered it on to a piece of black cardstock so there was a thin black border around the edge and adhered this to my card base to complete the card.

Take care for now.

Toucan Of My Afftection Card.

Hello.

Today is an exciting day for Time For Tea Designs as it is new release day. I am sharing a shaker card featuring the new clear stamp set Toucan Do This available now.

I started the card by ink blending a card panel to fit my card base with Distress Oxide inks Mowed Lawn and Twisted Citron. I flicked some Gansai Tambi white gold watercolour paint from a paintbrush to add some sparkle and set this aside to dry. Once dry I stamped the sentiment in Memento Tuxedo black ink.

Next I stamped the images using the Memento ink I selected the birds, tree branch, hearts and leaves on to some Neenah 80lb cardstock and coloured them with my Copic markers. I then cut them out with my scan n cut machine.

I used a circle die to cut out a window from the green panel and adhered some acetate on the back of the panel with a tape runner. I then adhered the images around the window with my tape runner.

To make the shaker element I placed 3 layers of foam tape around the window and around the edges of the card panel. I used an anti static powder tool around the window area then filled it with sequins. I used the Mardi Gras Parade mix from Doodles Paper Playground.

I then released the foam tape and adhered a card base to the panel to complete the card.

I hope you like it as much as I do.

You Octopi My Heart Card

Hello. Today I am sharing a card using images from Time For Tea Designs using clear stamp sets Shell Phone and Mermazing. I purchased a set of Arteza real brush markers a while ago and thought this was the perfect card to try them out.

To start the card I took a piece of Bristol smooth cardstock and prepped it with an anti static powder tool. I then stamped the images with a Wow embossing pad and sprinkled with Wow Metallic Platinum super fine embossing powder. I used my heat tool to melt the embossing powder.

Next I coloured the images using the Arteza brush pens. Once this was done I cut the images out using my scan n cut machine and set them to one side.

I wanted to do some ink smooshing for the background. I scribbled some of the Arteza pens on to my glass mat and sprayed each colour with a little water. I used another piece of Bristol cardstock. I took one of my cello bags that I use to send my cards in and this is what I used to transfer the colour. I pressed the piece of cellophane into the first colour of pen ink then pressed it on to the card, moving it around a little to get the effect I wanted. I repeated this with each colour until I was happy with my background. I also splattered a little of each colour with a small paintbrush and set it aside to dry.

I heat embossed the sentiment to match the embossing of the sea creatures and then adhered the creatures to the background with a tape runner. I added some sequins from little things by Lucy with some liquid glue to complete the card.

Thanks for dropping by. I hope you like the card. Take care for now. Katrina.
