I used the Lawn Fawn stamp set Upon a Star. I stamped the cute animals on to X-Peess it blending card with Memento tuxedo black ink then did some simple colouring with Copic markers. I fussy cut the images and went around the edges with a black Copic marker.
Next I worked on the background.
I used watercolour paper and distress ink to make a night sky then with a white gel pen made small dots to look like snow.
I used the Lawn Fawn hillside border dies on white cardstock to make the snow drifts using my Big shot die cutting machine.
Next I used the Santa sleigh die on black cardstock to cut the sleigh image. I coated it in Papermania black embossing powder and melted it with my heat tool.
I stamped a sentiment from the stamp set and used silver Papermania embossing powder and melted it with my heat tool. Finally I put it all together and mounted the picture on some dark red cardstock and adhered it to a top folding card base.
Hello. I hope you are having a great day. Today I am sharing with you my latest design using Newtons Nook stamp set Newtons Rainy Day.
I started by stamping the main stamp image onto X-Peess it blending card using Memento tuxedo black ink and coloured it using Copic markers.
I then fussy cut the image and used a black pen to highlight the eyes on the animals. I also went around the edge of the image with a black Copic marker. I used Glossy Accents to make the puddle shiney.
Next I worked on the background using distress inks and a blending tool on watercolour paper. I used My Favourite Things mini cloud edges stencil for the sky and sprayed some water on the green ink. I then used a Zig clean colour real brush pen to add marks to give the impression of grass.
Next I stamped a sentiment from the stamp set and heat embossed it with Papermania silver embossing powder. I then stuck the main image on the card and added the rain drop stamp from the set for the rain using Lawn Fawn mermaid ink.
I backed this on to some purple cardstock to give a thin frame and adhered this to a top folding card base.
Here is the finished card.

So here it is, my first blog post. I wanted to share my card making journey with you all.
I was looking for a hobby so I could have some me time. I have been dipping in and out of craft for many years particularly enjoyed cross stitch. I discovered a love of card making about four years ago while I was pregnant with my third child. I had played around with this craft previously but couldn’t find stamps that I really loved here in the uk, they all seemed aimed at an older generation. Pretty lace patterns and flowers just wasn’t me.
Then I discovered Americn designers with their cute critter stamps. Now that was me. I slowly built up my stash and discovered copic markers and that’s when it became a passion.
Going from this a year ago
To the current place I am now.
It has taken time and practice to develop the different skills I have learned such as distress ink blending and sucessfully using embossing powders.
Everything I have learned is self taught through watching my favorite crafters on YouTube and playing with my crafty stash.
I want to share my journey as it continues. So far I have learned it’s ok to make mistakes, it’s all part of the joutney. Nobody is perfect and beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Your work is unique to you and that’s what makes it special. For me it’s about doing something I enjoy and being pleased with the end result, which is not always as I had planned when I started the design.
I look forward to sharing my cards and craft with you.
