Cats love boxes

Today I made this Birthday card.

I couldn’t resist putting a cat in the box as my cats love a box.

I used the stamp set Celebration Box with the coordinating dies from Honey Bee Stamps along with the cat from the Mama Elephant stamp set Page Huggers.

I stamped and coloured the images using copic markers. Then uses glossy accents to make the balloons shiney.

I stamped the border stamp for the card using Honey Bee Stamps Zen Floral stamp set.

I heat embossed the swirls and added small gems around the balloons too add some more textured interest.

The sentiment is from the Mama Elephant set Occasional Labels.

Thanks for passing by.

Bright Birthday card

Good morning. I hope you are well. I have been poorly for nearly a week so not much crafting has been going on. I finally managed to find a little energy to make a card which has cheered me up.

I used the Mama Elephant stamp set called Page Huggers with the coordinating dies for this card.

I stamped three of the the mouse image with Memento tuxedo black ink on to some xpress-it blending card and coloured the images using copic markers. I also stamped and coloured two envelope and two present images from the set for the mice to hold.

Next I took a strip of watercolour paper and used distress inks to make the rainbow then spritzed it with water to create the distress look.

I stamped the Birthday sentiment from Mama Elephants Words Defined stamp set on to the rainbow and attached it to the bottom of a 6×6 white card base.

Next I attached the mice.

I added glossy accents to the glasses and used the C00 copic marker to ground them with a little light shading.

I hope you like the card.

Christmas decorations

Hello. Today it’s a snowy Sunday so I decided to make some tree decorations. I started by stamping images from stamps by Mama Elephant from the Beary Christmas set and from the Lawn Fawn set Toboggan together. I used Memento tuxedo black ink to stamp the images.

I then used Prismacolour pencils to colour the images, and Spectrum Noir glitter pen to add some sparkle. I used a white gel pen to add dots for the snow.

I drilled a small hole at the top of each decoration and threaded some red and white striped twine for hanging.

Christmas cards 2017

Christmas is fast approaching so I thought today I would post all my designs so far to give you some inspiration.

Above each design is the name of the main stamp set used for the card.

Most have an ink blended background and I find the Lawn Fawn stitched hillside borders great to create snow drifts.

First up is little reindeer agenda by Mama Elephant.

Quick Christmas card

Today I made a quick Christmas card.

First I stamped snowflakes from the Mama Elephant stamp set Holly’s snowflakes on to a piece of watercolour paper using Emboss clear embossing stamp pad. I used Ranger white embossing powder to heat emboss the snowflakes.

Next I used Salty Ocean Distress Oxide ink and went over the snowflakes to create a blue background.

I then dripped water on to make the distress background. I buffed the snowflakes to bring back the white of the embossing.

I made a small banner using a sentiment stamp from Lawn Fawn joy into the woods stamp set and cut out using a Lawn Fawn stitched border die and adhered it to the card. I attached this to a top folding card base to complete the card.

Beachy card on a chilly autumn day

Hello. The weather is starting to get a bit chilly here so I decided to warm myself up with a beach card.

I started by stamping the image from Newtons Nook set Aloha Newton on to blending card and used Copic markers to colour it in. I then fussy cut the image and went around the edges with a black Copic marker.

Next I worked on the beach background using distress inks and a blending tool on watercolour paper.

I used a stitched border from Lawn Fawn and put it through my big shot die cutting machine.

I adhered the cat image to the beach background then worked on the background of the card. I used Newtons Nook Tropical Leaves stencil with distress ink on green cardstock to create this.

I also stenciled this on a small piece of card and die cut this with a small Lawn Fawn stitched border. I stamped a sentiment from the stamp set and heat embossed it with Papermabia white embossing powder.

I backed the small sentiment on to white card to make a thin border and placed all the pieces together.

I rounded the edges of the card and placed it on to a top folding card to finish.

Make a wish holiday card

Today I made a quick Christmas card.

I used the Lawn Fawn stamp set Upon a Star. I stamped the cute animals on to X-Peess it blending card with Memento tuxedo black ink then did some simple colouring with Copic markers. I fussy cut the images and went around the edges with a black Copic marker.

Next I worked on the background.

I used watercolour paper and distress ink to make a night sky then with a white gel pen made small dots to look like snow.

I used the Lawn Fawn hillside border dies on white cardstock to make the snow drifts using my Big shot die cutting machine.

Next I used the Santa sleigh die on black cardstock to cut the sleigh image. I coated it in Papermania black embossing powder and melted it with my heat tool.

I stamped a sentiment from the stamp set and used silver Papermania embossing powder and melted it with my heat tool.
Finally I put it all together and mounted the picture on some dark red cardstock and adhered it to a top folding card base.
