Cross Stitch obsession

Hello. Today I thought I would share my other crafty obsession apart from my card making.

I started Cross Stitch after buying a magazine from a supermarket shelf. I had a a go at the free kit and became hooked. Here it is..

I stitched charts from magazines. for a while but then I discovered Bothy Threads.

I love Bothy Threads because their kits are mostly full cross stitch. Their designs include the Gorjuss Range, cut thru designs and my favourite the Wrendale Designs animals. Here is my Wrendale Peacock..

They also have lots of other designs, there is something for everyone.

Here is my Bothy Exotic Birds…

Princess Card

Hello. I hope you are well. We are enjoying the bank holiday weekend sunshine here.

I am sharing the princess card I made today. I couldn’t resist the new stamp set from Clearly Besotted called fairy tale princess.

I coloured in the images with copic markers. This is the first time I have had a go at colouring gold with copics. I was pleased with the result.

I started with some watercolour paper to make the card and used Lawn Fawn stitched rectangles to cut the background and frame. I then used Distress Oxide ink to add the colour. I added an acetate window to the frame.

I stamped the sentiment and filled the base with some sequins from Neat and Tangled this colour mix is my favourite.

I attached the images to the acetate window and used foam tape to attach the window to the base.

Foiling with stencils

Hello. I hope you are well.

I have recently been having a go at foiling using stencils. I love that moment when you peel back the foil to reveal the shiney pattern underneath. I thought I would share two of my cards with you today.

The first was made using the Altenew leaf burst stencil with Thermo Web Deco Foil.

The secret to a smooth finish is to make sure you have your laminater nice and hot and running it through twice.

The second card was made with the Newtons Nook confetti stencil

I used Deco Foil transfer gel for both cards. You simply rub the gel over the stencil on to your cardstock making sure it is nice sand smooth with an even coverage. Then once it is very place the foil pattern side up and run it through your laminater.

This foil is Gina K fancy foils. The stamp set is Newtons Nook Cocktail Mixer set.

Birthday Card

Today I made this Birthday card.

I stamped the balloon images from the Honey Bee stamps set Celebration Box on to a piece of watercolour paper and heat embossed with white embossing Powder.

I then used Distress Oxide inks squeezed lemonade and salty ocean to blend the background. I love how easily the Distress Oxide inks blend on watercolour paper.

I used a happy Birthday die and cut out the sentiment in white and black card then layered them before attaching. I then attached the finished piece to a card base.

Thanks for joining me today.

Quick clean and simple card

Today I went to visit my friend as she picked up her new cat yesterday. Straight away I thought of this cute stamp set from My Favorite Things which has the perfect sentiment. So I made a quick card for her.

I used Copic markers to colour the image and made sure the cat was the colours of her new cat Alfie.

I then did some soft ink blending on a card base using blue and green distress inks to ground the image.

I then stamped the sentiments to complete the card.

Cats love boxes

Today I made this Birthday card.

I couldn’t resist putting a cat in the box as my cats love a box.

I used the stamp set Celebration Box with the coordinating dies from Honey Bee Stamps along with the cat from the Mama Elephant stamp set Page Huggers.

I stamped and coloured the images using copic markers. Then uses glossy accents to make the balloons shiney.

I stamped the border stamp for the card using Honey Bee Stamps Zen Floral stamp set.

I heat embossed the swirls and added small gems around the balloons too add some more textured interest.

The sentiment is from the Mama Elephant set Occasional Labels.

Bright Birthday card

Good morning. I hope you are well. I have been poorly for nearly a week so not much crafting has been going on. I finally managed to find a little energy to make a card which has cheered me up.

I used the Mama Elephant stamp set called Page Huggers with the coordinating dies for this card.

I stamped three of the the mouse image with Memento tuxedo black ink on to some xpress-it blending card and coloured the images using copic markers. I also stamped and coloured two envelope and two present images from the set for the mice to hold.

Next I took a strip of watercolour paper and used distress inks to make the rainbow then spritzed it with water to create the distress look.

I stamped the Birthday sentiment from Mama Elephants Words Defined stamp set on to the rainbow and attached it to the bottom of a 6×6 white card base.

Next I attached the mice.

I added glossy accents to the glasses and used the C00 copic marker to ground them with a little light shading.

I hope you like the card.
