Washi tape is a great addition to your craft supplies and is perfect to add interest to clean and simple cards that are quick and easy to make and are perfect for mass producing if you have lots of cards to make.

My favourite way to use Washi tape is to add it to the edge of my cards. Here are some cards I have made where I have done this. I especially love using the gold tapes. They are so versatile and work with all Altenew stamps from pretty florals through to geometric images. They also match perfectly with the Altenew gold inks.

The next stop on the hop is Irina Fonina

Altenew has a special off -40% off on ALL Washi Tapes from 11/10/2021 at 12:01 AM EST until 11/16/2021 at 11:59 PM EST.https://altenew.com/collections/washi-tapes Not valid on previous purchases. Free gift will be added to the cart automatically with all pigment ink orders.

Here are everything you need to know about the giveaway. Altenew is giving away a $70 gift certificate to 5 lucky winners and one Altenew Academy class to 15 lucky winners. There are also 19 awesome companies/crafty friends who are celebrating with us, and they are offering the following prizes:

Be sure to leave comments by 4/18/2021 for a chance to win one of 41 prizes! To make my card I started by blending some Lavender Fields ink on to the bottom of a pre folded card base. I used a large Altenew blending brush to apply the ink, fading out towards the top right side of the card. Once the ink was dry I adhered two different Altenew washi tapes to the left hand side.

I stamped the layered images from the Sweet Rose Bouquet stamp set using purple and green Altenew inks. For the final detail layer I heat embossed in gold.

I played around with the arrangement of the flowers leaving a space for the sentiments then adhered the images. I used scissors to cut any overhanging pieces. I then stamped my sentiments in Obsidian black ink. These are from the paint-A-Flower Coral Sunset and Paint-A-Flower Anemone stamp sets.

Thanks for hopping along. I am the last stop in the hop. You should have now gone full circle. If you have arrived here from elsewhere Head to the Altenew Blog to start hopping along.

Altenew Educators Blog Hop

Hello. Today I am taking part in the Altenew Educators blog hop

Altenew is giving away a $20 gift certificate to 5 lucky winners! Please leave a comment on the Altenew Card Blog for a chance to win. We’ll also draw a winner to receive a $15 Altenew gift certificate from the comments left on each designer’s blog on the blog hop list below. All winners will be announced on the Altenew Winners Page on 4/6/2021.

The Altenew Goldfish Pond stamp set is one of my new favourites. It is so unique.

To start the card I made the inky background. I took a piece of A2 sized watercolour card and smooshed Altenew inks on to a slick surface. I then spritzed the ink with water and smooshed my card into it. I then dried this ink with my heat tool before adding more ink in different. shades and colours to build up the layers.

Once my inky background was completely dry I took the solid lily pad and leaf images and stamped them over the background using Altenew Bamboo and Parrot inks,

Next I cut my inked panel down to 4 x 5 1/4 inches and die cut a circle window in the centre. I took the inside of the die cut circle and put it back where it had been cut from and added some adhesive to just the circle and placed the panel on to my A2 white card base. This will adhere the circle in the correct place making it easy to line up when building the shaker card.

I layered a piece of acetate over the circle window using liquid glue.

Next I stamped and layered my fish images on white card. I added a little grey artist marker to add some depth to the fish then fussy cut them along the black outline. I went along the edges of the cut images with a black marker to define the edges.

I stamped and heat embossed the sentiment on to black card with white embossing powder, heat set and trimmed down to size.

I adhered the fish and the sentiment to the front of the card panel and added foam tape to the back of the panel. Making sure to add a foam frame all around the window area so the sequins do not escape!

I brushed the shaker area with an anti static powder tool then placed some sequins over the circle on the card base. I chose colours that matched my inky background. I released the foam tape then attached it card panel to complete the card.

I hope you are inspired to make a shaker card with you stamps.

I was so happy when I saw the gorgeous new stamps and dies. I have five cards to share showing a variety of cards using the new products.

My first card showcases the gorgeous Once Upon A Time stamp set and coordinating dies. I used the stamps to make a scene card, adding some ink blending. I coloured the horse and cart with Altenew artist markers

For my next card I used the whimsical herringbone stamp set. This is a great background stamp with some wonderful sentiments. For this card I watercoloured the background, stamped in black ink and heat embossed the sentiment on to vellum

Here is the Books Are Magic stamp set and coordinating dies. I coloured the book image with artist markers, then lined the image back up with the stamp and heat embossed in gold. I blended the background in yellow and stamped some of the cute little images from the stamp set in the same inks to add some interest.

These beautiful floral images are from the Book Engravings layering stamp set and coordinating dies. There is also a colouring stencil for this set. I kept this card clean and simple with the focus on the flowers and leaves.

For my last card I coloured my image from the Tall Tale stamp with artist markers and used the book stamp to do some repeated stamping to make the background. Coordinating dies are available.

Altenew Build-A-Flower Semi-Double Crysanthemum Release Blog Hop

Hello, today I am joining the new release blog hop for Altenew. Introducing the newest Stamp and Die set from the Build-A-Flower collection, Semi-Double Chrysanthemum.

To celebrate this release, Altenew is giving away a $50 gift certificate to 2 lucky winners and a $20 gift certificate to 5 winners! Please leave a comment on the Altenew Card Blog and/or each designer’s blog post on the blog hop list below by 03/07/2021 for a chance to win. Altenew will draw 7 random winners from the comments left on each stop of this blog hop and announce the winners on the Altenew Winners Page on 03/09/2021. You should have arrived here from Jenny Colacicco

Here’s how I made my card. To start I used Altenew inks to stamp each layer of the flower. The stamps are numbered and the handy insert inside the stamp set shows you exactly how to layer and line up the stamps. Working from light to dark ink for each layer I used Rose Quartz, Puffy Heart and Purple Wine. For the leaves I used Bamboo and Olive inks. Once my images were stamped I die cut them with the coordinating dies.

I decided to make a slimline card. I cut a white card panel measuring 9″ by 4″ I took the same pink ink used to stamp the images and smooshed some on to my glass mat and added a little water. I then used a piece of plastic to transfer the ink to my card randomly, smooshing ink towards the left hand side of the card. I added a little caramel toffee ink to add some depth of colour. Over this I used a blending brush to add some more ink from the edge and used the Altenew Watercolor Stripes stencil and added some pink ink over this, fading out to the centre of the panel.

Next I worked on my sentiment strips. I blended some of the darker Ink on to some card and once dry heat embossed the sentiments in white. I fussy cut the love word and cut the other words into thin strips.

When my inked panel was dry I added a piece of gold washi tape and then adhered flowers with liquid glue and the sentiments with foam tape for a little dimension. I then adhered my panel to my card base to compete the card.

Beautiful inside and out card

Hello. I hope you are staying safe and well.

Today I am joining a fun hop where all of us Educators will be sharing our love for Altenew through our handmade creations! The hop starts from @altenewllc. Altenew is giving away a $20 gift certificate to 5 lucky winners! For a chance to win, please follow @altenewllc and me @craftylemur and leave a comment by 3/3/2021). Altenew will draw 5 random winners from the comments left on each stop of this Instagram hop and announce the winners on Altenew’s Educator Instagram hop post on 03/05/2021.

To make my card I started by stamping the floral and leaf images from Altenew Poppy Garden stamp set. I coloured them using Altenew Artist Markers. I also coloured the little bee which is from the Get Well Soon stamp set. Once coloured I lined my images back up with the stamps using my Misti and stamped them in embossing ink. I then sprinkled them in gold embossing power and heat set them. I then die cut my images and set them to one side.

Next I worked on my background. I cut a piece of white cardstock to A2 size and ink blended Altenew Bamboo ink over the edges, fading out towards the centre. I then masked this area off and stamped the Altenew Dainty Swiss Dots stamp using Morning Frost ink over the top of this area.

I heat embossed the sentiment in the gold and added a piece of gold washi tape to the edge of the panel. I splattered some bamboo ink and gold watercolour on the panel and adhered my images using liquid glue to complete the card.

Take care for now.

Rainbow encouragement card

Hello and Happy New Year to you. Today I am sharing a bright rainbow encouragement card. I love making inky backgrounds the result is different every time and you never know what you will get. Just have fun and enjoy the process and you get some wonderful results.

To start my card I took a piece of watercolour card cut to A6 size. I selected a rainbow of Distress inks. I used Picked Raspberry, Mustard Seed, Peacock Feathers, Salty Ocean and Wilted Violet. I took my inks and rubbed then on to my slick surface (this is my craft mat from the Tim Holtz glass mat) to make a rainbow slightly bigger than my card panel. I then sprayed water from my Tim Holtz spray bottle.

Next i lay my card panel in to the ink and lifted it away. I dried it with my Ranger heat it tool. Once it was dry I repeated this again in the same ink. Working in layers and drying each time before adding more ink I repeated this until I was happy with the look of my background. A good tip is if the ink starts to get mucky and you want to add more just wipe it away and add fresh ink to your mat. Experiment and see what works for you. tapping the panel will create drips and drops of colour for some additional texture.

I stamped and coloured the mermaid image from the Time For Tea Designs Mermazing stamp set and used the coordinating die to cut it out. I took a strip of white card and stamped the sentiment from the Time For Tea Designs Unicorn in Training stamp set in rainbow colours to match the background I stamped blue bubbles on the strip to go behind the mermaid. Theses are from the Swimming By To Say Hi stamp set. I cut two thin strips of silver glitter card and adhered them behind the white panel to leave a thin silver strip either side.

I adhered my white panel to the background with double sided tape and used foam tape to add the mermaid on top. I added some clear raindrops from Little Things by Lucys Cards and adhered my panel to a white pre folded card base to complete the card.

Take Care for now.

Penguin scene bridge card

Hello. Today I am sharing a sneak peek of the upcoming new release from Time For Tea Designs.

To start the card I die cut pieces from the Display Card Builder die set on thick white card stock. I used Distress Oxide and blender brushes to add ink to the pieces of card and added splatters of white paint to the sky area. I then stamped the sentiments and assembled and adhered the pieces together with double sided tape.

I stamped and used Copics to colour images from the Skating By Penguins and some trees from the Winter Background stamp set. I cut them out then adhered them on to the background card using liquid glue. I added glitter to the pond for some sparkle and shine.

The new release from Time For Tea Designs is available from this Friday 13th November 2020. You can use discount code T4TKATRINA10 to get 10% off your order on the website.

Slimline Thank You Card

Hello. Today I am sharing a card I made for Time For Tea Designs.

To start my card I die cut two slimline card panels using a die from the slimline circle trio die set. Using the first panel I blended Distress Oxide inks in Carved Pumpkin, Mustard Seed and Picked Raspberry using a blending brush. I then took the starry sky stencil and added black Distress Ink over the top. The stencil is not big enough to cover the slimline card size but as the pattern is repeated it is easy to move the stencil up and match the pattern to continue the further along the card.

I set this panel aside to dry. I took the other slimline panel and used the cloud dies from the landscape edge die set to cut the clouds. I blended some of the pink and yellow ink to add some colour to these. I also cut another cloud edge from vellum. I glued these to the blended panel, layering them over the top of each other making sure the vellum was at the back.

Next I stamped and the cat and mouse images and cut them out with the coordinating dies. The cat is from the crafty cats set and the mouse is from the Mew are the best gift set. I coloured them with Copic markers.

I stamped the sentiments with Versafine black ink and adhered the images with a tape runner. To complete the. card I added some jewels and adhered the panel to the card base.

Thanks for dropping by.
