Altenew 8th Anniversary Blog Hop Day 3 + Giveaway (over $2,000 in Total Prizes)

I am delighted to be joining Altenew to celebrate their 8th Anniversary. You should have arrived here from Yasmin Diaz but if you arrived here by chance the blog hop starts over at the Altenew Card Blog

Here is my card to say a Happy Anniversary Altenew and Congratulations on everything you have achieved.

I wanted to show how to step up a card design by adding a little extra time and detail. You can completely change the look of a card and up your designs. Below is my first card. It has a stamped image and colouring plus a sentiment and strip of Washi.

Compare this to the finished card where I have embossed the images in silver and fussy cut the whole piece and applied to the card base with foam tape for some dimension. I also added some ink to the background and some splatters. I also changed up the sentiment to be less harsh and compliment the background. What do you think?

Now to the giveaway. Altenew has over $2,000 in total prizes! Altenew is giving away a $80 Gift Certificate to 5 lucky winners and one Altenew Academy Online Class($8.95 value) to 15 lucky winners. There are also 26 awesome companies/crafty friends who are celebrating with us, and they are offering the following prizes:

Be sure to leave comments by 4/15/2022 for a chance to win one of 50 prizes! To make the hop more exciting, start your comment with “Hi from (city or country where you’re from)!” 50 winners will be chosen at random from the comments left on any of the blogs listed below and will be announced on the Altenew Card Blog on 4/21/2022.

This is the end of the hop for today. You can circle back to the Altenew Card Blog or if you have hopped all the way the celebrations will continue tomorrow.

Take care for now

  2. Hi from Washington. Both cards are beautiful but I do really like the stepped up version. I am amazed at the difference the “stepped up” elements make.

  3. Hello from Northern Kentucky! Just Beautiful! You definitely do know how to step up a cards look! My favorite part is that you cut the flowers out and popped them up! I never think of designs like this and am always amazed when I see them. I’m going to have to learn to think a little more creatively when I make my cards!

  4. Hello from Central Florida, Katrina! First of all gorgeous cards!!!

Secondly, this really clearly showed me how these few extra steps really elevated the card! I just made about 20 Altenew cards. I’m going back to add more of your details to them! Thank you for clearly showing the way to do this! I’m subscribing to your blog now!

  5. Hi from Vancouver Canada 🙂 You are so right, it sure does make a huge difference when you put some added creativity and time into a card. I really like how you put washi tape behind the cut edge of your flowers, it looks much neater than a straight line of washi. Thanks for sharing!

  6. Hi from Texas. Happy 8th Anniversary Altenew! Wow! There is quite a difference between both cards. The second one is quite vibrant. I bookmarked this post because I get asked questions whenever I craft with loved ones.
