Here’s how I made my card. To start I used Altenew inks to stamp each layer of the flower. The stamps are numbered and the handy insert inside the stamp set shows you exactly how to layer and line up the stamps. Working from light to dark ink for each layer I used Rose Quartz, Puffy Heart and Purple Wine. For the leaves I used Bamboo and Olive inks. Once my images were stamped I die cut them with the coordinating dies.

I decided to make a slimline card. I cut a white card panel measuring 9″ by 4″ I took the same pink ink used to stamp the images and smooshed some on to my glass mat and added a little water. I then used a piece of plastic to transfer the ink to my card randomly, smooshing ink towards the left hand side of the card. I added a little caramel toffee ink to add some depth of colour. Over this I used a blending brush to add some more ink from the edge and used the Altenew Watercolor Stripes stencil and added some pink ink over this, fading out to the centre of the panel.

Next I worked on my sentiment strips. I blended some of the darker Ink on to some card and once dry heat embossed the sentiments in white. I fussy cut the love word and cut the other words into thin strips.

When my inked panel was dry I added a piece of gold washi tape and then adhered flowers with liquid glue and the sentiments with foam tape for a little dimension. I then adhered my panel to my card base to compete the card.

  38. This big flower is just so perfect for the slimline card, and I love how you used the bold greens for the leaves which separates the pinks in the flowers from the misting and smooshed areas. Very cool look..
