Hello. I hope you are all well and staying safe and well during these difficult times we are facing.
Today I am sharing a card I made for the One Layer Wonders class from Altenew Academy. The class was led by the amazing Kelly Latevola. One of my favourite crafters. She is an amazing colourist and so inspiring.
To start my card I took the Flower Garden stamp set from Altenew and selected some of the stamps. I took a piece Neenah 80lb classic crest card, die cut to the same size as my A6 card base, and placed it in my Misti stamping tool.
I layed my stamps out to work out roughly where I wanted them. Using Memento Tuxedo black ink I stamped my first image in the top left corner. I stamped the same image on some masking paper, fussy cut it out then placed it over my image ready to stamp my next image.
The trick to this technique is to stamp the images you want at the front first and work backwards.
I continued to stamp and mask my images. I was able to work with only a handful of masks by moving them along where I could.
Once all the stamping was done it was time to remove all the masks and start colouring.
To start I outlined the individual flowers with a N0 Copic marker which makes the colouring feel less intimidating, allowing me to focus on one flower at a time. I used Copic markers then highlighted some of the darker areas with Polychromos coloured pencils.
Once the colouring was complete I took the sentiment from the Altenew stamp set Happy Pomegranates and stamped in black ink.
To complete the card I added some sequins from Little Things by Lucy’s Cards.
I hope you like the card.
Take care for now.
