Hello. I am back with another card for the Altenew Educator Certification Programme.
The class was called Impressive Heat Embossing. It was all about different ways to add embossed images to projects. This class was a great way to take me away from my much loved alcohol markers. It is very rare I make a card that doesn’t involve colouring.
To make the card I took one flower and one leaf image from the Altenew ‘Flower Garden’ stamp set. I took my anti static powder bag and rubbed it over my card panel before stamping to keep stray bits of embossing powder sticking to my background. I used Wow embossing pad and stamped the flower and leaf images in random places over the card, then sprinkled Ranger Princess Gold embossing powder over the images. Once this was done I used my heat gun to heat and melt the powder.
Next I tool Distress Oxude inks Carved Pumpkin, Mustard Seed and Squeezed Lemonade and used a blending brush to add ink over the entire panel. I then used a cloth to bugg and remove ink from the embossed areas. I flicked a little water over the panel to add some added interest.
I used coloured pencils to add a little shading to each of the flowers and leaves, matching the colour of the ink.
Now for the sentiment. I die cut the thanks word using brown cardstock and the Altenew ‘Fancy Thanks’ Die three times and layered them on top of each other using liquid glue. I then adhered this to the background panel and added some sequins for some more shine.
I adhered the panel to my card base to complete the card.
I love how it turned out. I hope you like it too.
