Hello. I hope you are well.
Today’s card is inspired by one of the Altenew Academy classes – Color Your Day.

The particular class which inspired my card was about using a picture or photo as inspiration. Here is my picture. I have a great love of sunrise and sunsets. This is a photo of a winter sunrise sky in all its glory about a month ago. These are the colours I used to create my card.

To start the card I stamped the main image from the new Altenew paint a flower -poppy stamp set. I selected Copic markers in colours similar to that of the photo. I coloured the flower in the Copics then added coloured pencil over the top.

Next I worked on the background. I took a piece of purple tape and masked off a section of the card base so I was left with a strip along the left hand side to add Distress Oxide ink. I used a blending brush to add Wilted Violet, Picked Raspberry and Carved Pumpkin. I then took Altenew metalic watercolour and added some splatters from a brush to the area to add some shine.
Next I stamped the sentiment in black ink and adhered the image to the card with liquid adhesive. I then added some sequins to complete the card.
Thanks for dropping by.
