I am here today with another card as part of the Altenew Educator Certification Programme.
The class was all about inking techniques. Showing how to use inks in different ways to create backgrounds and add ink to projects beyond the usual stamping.
For my card I focused on two techniques. The first was using ink to colour in images and the second was using ink around the edge of cards. These are both things I was aware of but not something i use regularly.
To start the card I took a piece of cardstock and stamped out my images using Altenew jet black ink. These images are from the Altenew stamp set ‘Garden grow.’
Once the ink was dry I used Altenew inks Forest Glad and Tide Blue to colour the plant and Lavender Fields and Turquoise for the butterfly. I smooshed some of each colour on to my glass mat then took an Altenew water brush and some water to colour the images in. I made sure not to use too much water as i was colouring on to regular cardstock.
Once the images were dry I used a wonky stitches die from My Favorite Things to cut out the panel for the image and used the Tide Blue ink pad to add ink along the edges of the panel.
Next I took my card base and the Altenew Leaf Burst stencil. I used a blending brush to lighltly blend some of the blue and green inks over the stencil.
I stamped a sentiment from the stamp set and adhered the panel to the centre of the card and added some sequins to complete the card.
