Watercolour floral card

I hope you are well. Today I am sharing a watercolour floral card as part of the Altenew Educator Certification Programme.

The class I made this card for was called ‘Easy die cutting Techniques’ There are some great techniques in the class and it really stretched me to think outside of my usual one layer cards and create something a bit different.

To start the card I stamped and masked images from the ‘Wallpaper Art’ clear stamp set. I used Versafine black ink and Arches cold pressed watercolour paper as I wanted to use my Gansai Tambi watercolours to colour the flower and leaves.

Once the image was painted and dry, I masked the whole image using masking paper.

I then placed the Altenew ‘watercolor stripes’ stencil over the top. I blended some Picked Raspberry Distress Oxide ink over the top.

I removed the stencil and used some gold watercolour to add splatters over the card then removed the mask.

Next for the die cutting. I first die cut the whole panel with a Lawn Fawn stitched rectangle die. I then took a smaller die from the same set and die cut a panel from the centre of the card. I took the central panel and adhered it to a piece of fun foam. I then adhered the rest of the panel on to a card base and adhered the central panel back in place.

To complete the card I added a thank you sentiment from the stamp set using Altenew obsidian black ink.
