Next week Valentines Day is upon us so here is some inspiration for a fun card using a digi stamp. Digital stamps are great because you can download them to use straight away. No waiting round for your pot to arrive and missing that all important date. As much as ‘real’ stamps will always be my go to crafting supply for my cards there is definitely a place for digital stamps too.
I started by printing out the First Love Phoebe stamp on to Neenah solar white 80lb cardstock. For those of you who have not worked with digital stamps before I have a HP home printer and the cardstock goes through fine and the ink does not smudge when you use Copics to colour as long as you make sure the ink is dry before you start colouring. I coloured the image using Copic markers then cut it out using my Scan n Cut machine.
Next I worked on the background. I cut another piece of Nennah cardstock to 6′ by 6″ which is the same size as my base. I took Distress Oxide inks in Squeezed Lemonade and Spun Sugar. Using a round blending tool blended them so that the top part of the card was yellow and the bottom pink. I then flicked a little water off the edge of a paint brush over the background to add some texture. I placed a piece of kitchen towel on top to soak up any excess water. Once this was dry I took a stencil called Radiating Rays by My Favorite Things. I placed the stencil over the background and using the same colours of Distress Oxide already used I went over the stencil to create the rays.
Once my background was dry I trimmed it down so there would be a white border around the edge of the card and adhered it to the card base using a tape runner. I then adhered the image in the same way. To finish off the card I die cute the word Love from some gold cardstock adhered this to the card then finished off by adding some sequins.
I hope you like the card. Until next time.
