Thank You card

Hello.

Today I am sharing a Thank you card using an emboss resist technique.

I made this card as part of the Altenew Educator Certification Programme. This card was made for the easy ink bleding techniques class. Normally gravitate towards florals for emboss resist on an inked background so to challenge myself I wanted to try something different.

I started cutting a piece of Neenah solar white 80lb cardstock the same size as my card base. I then used purple Tape to mask off a large strip of the card.

Next I selected some stamps from the Altenew stamp set Garden Grow. I arranged them on the card to make a small scene. Once I was happy with the placement I took my anti static powder bag and used it in the area to be stamped. I then mounted each stanp on to an acrylic block and used Wow embossing pad to stamp each image on to the strip of card.

I covered the stamped images in Ranged Princess Gold embossing powder, tapping off the excess powder I then used my heat tool to set it.

Now I had my images I selected Distress Oxide inks in Salty Ocean, Blueprint Sketch and Mowed Lawn to blend the background over the stamped images using a round blending tool.

Once I had done this I used a small paint brush and flicked some water over the area, using a paper towel to soak up the excess water.

Once this was dry I carefully removed the purple tape. I heat embossed a sentiment which I took from the Heartfelt Sentiments set by Altenew.

To complete the card I added some sequins and attached the card to the card base.

I love how the gold embossing catches the light. The Altenew class definitely made me think about different stamps I will use in the future for emboss resist and how important it is to challenge myself to try different things.

Thanks for dropping by.

  2. The ink blending looks great! I am glad you stepped out of your comfort zone and worked with non-floral stamps. I know how hard that is to do. I do love the seamlessly blended area, you have done a wonderful job!
Thank you for entering your gorgeous work to the AECP assignment gallery, beautiful colours!
