Hello.
I am here to share a clean and simple card with a repeat stamp background. They are easy and quick to make and you can use any stamp to create the background.
For my background I chose a little bird from the Altenew Garden Grow stamp set. The card was made as part of the Altenew Educator Certification Programme. This one was for the clean and simple boutique cards class.
I was inspired to try repeated stamping backgrounds. Something I have admired on cards but have never had much success with myself.
I selected three shades of Distress Oxide inks to stamp in. Ground espresso, Stormy Sky and Dusty Concord.
To start a repeated pattern first find the centre of your card by measuring, then place a small pencil mark. This is the position of your first stamp.
After I had the first bird in place I then stamped the next bird to the right of this but lower down diagonally. Once I had these two birds in place I was able to use the grid on my acrylic block to work out how far apart the birds were. When I stamped the second bird the corner of my acrylic block was level with the centre bird just below his chin. Now I knew this measurement I was able to stamp the next bird further down. I repeated this to work out where all the other birds should be placed.
I continued to stamp the birds until my card was full.
I die cut a circle from brown cardstock. To add a sentiment I used a Wow embossing pad to stamp in the centre of the circle, the sentiment was from The Altenew stamp set Floral Shadow. I covered this in Wow fine white embossing powder and used my heat gun to set it. To finish the card I adhered the circle to the top centre portion of the card.
Now have learnt how to position the images correctly to produce a background that is pleasing to the eye and correctly formed I will definitely use this technique more often.
The possibilities of repeated stamped backgrounds. Changing up the images, colours and sentiments can give you a quick card for any occasion.
I hope you are inspired to give it a try.

Again! Lovely work! Just a thought, to add the “boutique” touch to your card, you can also add a mat of gold foil cardstock behind your circle sentiment.
Thank you for entering your gorgeous work to the AECP assignment gallery. Keep it up!
