Today I am sharing a floral Thank You card.
I am currently taking part in the Altenew Educator Certification Programme and the first classes are layering. This is something fairly new to me, although I have used layering stanps before they are not something I usually go for due to my love of colouring. The classes are very inspiring and I was keen to continue making cards with layering stamps after my first class.
For this card I used an Altenew layering stamp set called Remember This.
I started by making a card base from Neenah 110lb cardstock. Following the layering guide I downloaded from Altenew. I Started with the black outline image then adding the layers which add the detail, in order using the coloured inks going a darker shade each time. I used the purple shades mainly because it is my favourite colour!
Once I had stanped the main flower image I made a mask and stanped more images so the slightly overlapped. I added the leaves and buds. Once I had stamped out all my images I roughly masked the stamped area.
I then used the Deep Iris ink and put some on to an acrylic block and mixed with a small amount of water. I took a paint brush and flicked the ink from the edge of the block over the card making small splatters. Next I did a simelar process only this time I used Champagne Gold watercolour paint from Gansai Tambi starrry colours and I tapped my brush to give bigger splatters.
To finish the card I stamped a Thank You sentiment for the Altenew stamp set Heartfelt Sentiments using the Deep Iris Ink.
I like how the card turned out and I am now becoming more confident with layering stamps.
Take Care for now. Until next time.
