Hello friends.
I hope you are well. Today I wanted to share this watercoloured scene I created for a card.
I used a stamp set from Hero Arts my monthly hero kit April 2018.
I used Ranger Archival black ink. I find this works well with watercolour, you just need to make sure it is dry before starting to watercolour. I went to school for a parents information evening between stamping and starting to paint! I first stamped the snake, cake and bird. I created masks for the bird and snake by stamping the images on to post in notes and cutting around the edge.
I placed the masks over the images then stamped the cactus so that it overlapped and when the mask is removed it looks like the cactus is behind the animals. I then stamped the sentiments at the top.
Next I started the watercolouring. I used my new Altenew watercolours with a small brush to add colour to the images. I used a larger brush to add the background colour, keeping to the desert colours I thought were perfect for this scene. I added some shadows along the ground to add some texture and dimension.
Thanks for dropping by.
You can see more of my work over on instagram
Take care for now.
