Hello. I hope you are well. It is still very hot here. The past couple of days have been exceptionally hot.
Today I am sharing the monochrome card I made.
This morning I watched a YouTube video by one of my biggest inspirations Kristina Werner. This week is watercolour week over on her channel. Take a look at her videos.
Todays video was a one colour challenge. Kristina used one watercolour colour to make a card. She suggested during her video it would be fun to use a dark colour to do a card and I fell in love with the idea and had to give it a try.
To start I selected a dark but not quite black colour from my Gansai Tambi watercolour set. I used watercolour paper to do a wash background and added a darker section at the bottom for the ground. It took a few layers for me to be happy and it looks quite messy at this point but I was happy with the final result.
I am really keen to practice watercolour techniques more.
Next I selected the ‘upon a star’ stamp set by Lawn Fawn. I stamped the animals on to watercolour paper and painted them with the same watercolour paint as the background.
Once complete I cut them out with my scan n cut machine and put them to one side.
Once my background was dry I used a powder tool over the sky area and stamped the sentiment with a clear embossing pad then sprinkled with Ranger liquid platinum embossing powder and heated it with my heat tool. I then repeated this with the stars and used Ranger white embossing powder.
I then attached the animals and stars using small foam squares to add some dimension and complete the card.
I hope you like it. Thanks for stopping by today.
Katrina

I am so impressed with this card! Even more impressed with the fact you have succeeded in writing a blog! I have been trying to figure out WordPress and it’s driving me mad! Keep up the great work! I love Kristina too!

Thank you. I have been using it for a little while now and it works well for me. Keep trying and you will get the hang of it. I am no expert but give me a shout if I can help in any way 😊
